If you are receiving a message similar to this image below within Actionstep this means that Actionstep can not connect to your email account settings. 

This is is generally caused by Actionstep unable to reach the mailbox you have provided Actionstep in Admin > Email >Email Setup.

You may need to chek with your email provider or IT Person to ensure that the email account Actionstep is using is not disabled, or its password has not expired. Other causes could be that perhaps the communication protocol POP has been disabled on your email server or your email server is not accessible. 

You will require your IT person to review the mail account provided to actionstep to ensure that the account is working correctly.
